National Police chief meets TNI commander in Cilangkap, urges unity
TNI headquarters said the visit was a routine courtesy call and was not tied to recent issues drawing public attention.
National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo visited TNI headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Monday (13/7) to meet TNI Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto and the service chiefs. Listyo said the visit followed President Prabowo Subianto's directive for the TNI and Polri to maintain synergy and solidarity in guarding national stability and government programs. He also asked police ranks from provincial police chiefs to district police chiefs to strengthen communication with the TNI, while noting efforts to drive a wedge between the two institutions. Separately, TNI spokesman Maj. Gen. Muhammad Nas said the meeting was only a courtesy visit and did not discuss any specific issue or recent developments.
