Musk admits SpaceX throttled Starlink in Ukraine amid battle dispute
What's new: Ukraine says civilian Starlink is capped at 70-90 km/h there and cannot be used for deep strikes inside Russia.
Elon Musk said SpaceX restricted Starlink service in Ukraine, reversing earlier denials and intensifying a dispute over battlefield communications. Musk wrote that Ukraine's military breached Starlink's terms by using the civilian network for offensive drone strikes, and said SpaceX closed that "loophole" last week. Ukrainian officials pushed back, saying commercial Starlink already has long-standing limits: drones using it are restricted to 70-90 km/h inside Ukraine and do not function in Russia. Ukraine relies on both civilian Starlink and military-grade Starshield for communications and drone operations. Officials said service had stabilized by Saturday, with Starshield-connected drones again able to exceed 400 km/h.
