Musiala suffered absence seizures, collapsed twice in 4 days

Musiala said the condition stems from a neurological disorder, is treatable and poses no long-term health risk.

Jamal Musiala has revealed why he collapsed twice in four days while playing for Bayern Muenchen in preseason matches. The 23-year-old said he was diagnosed with brief, temporary absence seizures caused by a neurological disorder. Musiala said the condition can trigger incidents such as those in matches against RB Leipzig on Saturday and FC Heidenheim on Tuesday, when he fell minutes after coming on as a substitute. In a statement on Instagram, Musiala said he had received excellent medical care and remained optimistic. He also said there was no long-term health risk. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl had earlier said the club was aware of the situation.
