Muhaimin urges cooperatives to drive village economies at Harkopnas

Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar placed cooperatives at the center of community empowerment during the 79th National Cooperatives Day ceremony in Jakarta on Sunday. Muhaimin said cooperatives are more than a vehicle for joint business, but also a path to access financing, strengthen local businesses, raise the added value of local products, and expand economic opportunity to villages. At the event themed “Koperasi Berdaya, Indonesia Berjaya,” President Prabowo Subianto also called for economic development built on the spirit of mutual cooperation. The government is now building Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih in all villages and urban wards as an integrated economic service center.
