Mozambique lose 0-1, Conde sees Indonesia World Cup 2030 hope

The praise came after Ole Romeny’s lone goal at SUGBK drew 29,889 fans, up from the Oman match.

Mozambique coach Chiquinho Conde said Indonesia have a chance to qualify for the 2030 World Cup after his team lost 0-1 to the Garuda in a FIFA Matchday at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Tuesday. Ole Romeny scored the only goal. After the match, Conde praised the quality of Indonesia’s squad, the coaching staff and the support from the home crowd. He also hoped Mozambique and Indonesia could meet in the 2030 finals, which will be held in Morocco, Portugal and Spain. Indonesia and Mozambique have both never played at a World Cup. In 2026 qualifying, Indonesia were eliminated in the fourth round of the Asian zone, while Mozambique finished third in Group G in the African zone. The SUGBK match drew 29,889 spectators, more than the 23,677 who watched Indonesia beat Oman 3-0 on Friday.
