Mojtaba Khamenei urges Muslim states to unite against US, Israel

The appeal comes as Iran-U.S. peace efforts stall again after a 14-point memo collapsed and exchanges of strikes continued.

Mojtaba Khamenei called on leaders of Muslim countries, especially in West Asia and the Gulf, to unite against what he called the “true enemy,” the United States and Israel. The message was delivered on Sunday during Islamic Unity Week and broadcast by state television IRIB. Khamenei said differences of race, culture, social class, economics, politics and geography are often used to divide Muslims in Iran and other Islamic countries. He also urged people in Iran not to let internal differences widen. The appeal came as regional tensions remained high. After a joint US-Israel attack on Iran in late February, Tehran retaliated by striking neighboring countries that host US military assets. A 14-point memorandum signed by Iran and the US in June to end the war later reached an impasse.
