Minnesota gets withheld evidence in 2 fatal ICE protest shootings

What's next: Hennepin County prosecutors are reviewing body-camera files, hard drives and a damaged SUV as they weigh possible state charges.

Minnesota prosecutors said Monday they have received federal evidence that had been withheld for months in their investigation into the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti during immigration enforcement protests in Minneapolis in January. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said the material includes body-camera video, statements, other digital files and Good's bullet-damaged SUV. Good was shot Jan. 7 while in her vehicle, and Pretti was killed Jan. 24 during a protest. Moriarty said the turnover followed six months of disputes, talks with the Minnesota U.S. attorney's office and the FBI, and a state lawsuit against the Justice and Homeland Security departments. Her office has not decided whether to charge the federal agents involved.
