Minangkabau Festival stages cultural parade in Pagaruyuang
New: The Tanah Datar event on June 25 was included in the Ministry of Tourism's Kharisma Event Nusantara lineup.
The Minangkabau Festival was held at Istano Basa Pagaruyuang, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, featuring a cultural parade, welcoming dances and a mass dance. A number of participants from Nagari Padang Magek joined the march to greet guests, while gandang tambua players appeared in the series of events. The festival highlighted the cultural richness of Ranah Minang in the Pagaruyuang area. The event was also listed as part of Kharisma Event Nusantara, a Ministry of Tourism program that curates regional tourism agendas. Event documentation showed the involvement of women’s groups, dancers and parade participants throughout the activities in the palace complex.
