A federal judge in Miami pushed back a hearing on whether Andrew and Tristan Tate should stay in custody as they fight extradition to Britain, moving the proceeding to Aug. 27 at the defense's request. The brothers, arrested July 18 in Miami, are wanted in the U.K. on rape and sex trafficking charges and deny wrongdoing. Prosecutors argue they should remain jailed because bail is rarely granted in extradition cases and because the allegations involve violent assaults and human trafficking. Defense lawyers contend the brothers are not a flight risk and point to their compliance with pretrial restrictions in Romania, where they also face accusations tied to sexual exploitation. The Tates are being held in a special housing unit at the Federal Detention Center in Miami.
