Egypt, U.S. press full implementation of Gaza truce
The call came after Sisi met Jared Kushner in El-Alamein as talks advanced on the next phase of the Gaza roadmap.
Egypt and the United States urged the parties fighting in Gaza to carry out all terms of the ceasefire agreement to preserve regional stability. The appeal came after Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met U.S. Special Envoy Jared Kushner in El-Alamein on Sunday. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad also attended. According to the Egyptian presidency, the talks stressed the obligation of all sides to uphold the end-of-war agreement reached at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in October 2025. The ceasefire took effect the next day. Under the deal, Israeli forces withdrew to the “Yellow Line” but still control more than 50 percent of Gaza. At the end of July, Hamas was said to be ready to approve the next-phase roadmap.
