Menteri LH plants 3,000 mangroves in Bali, returns July 28
The site has 2 hectares still unrestored, and Bali will be the main focus again on International Mangrove Day.
Minister of Environment Moh Jumhur Hidayat planted 3,000 mangrove seedlings at Mangrove Arboretum Park in Denpasar, Bali, with about 1,000 TNI/Polri personnel and environmental activists on Wednesday. He said mangrove planting will be intensified in various regions, with Bali as the initial focus, and he plans to return on July 28 for a larger event to mark International Mangrove Day. Bali Governor Wayan Koster said mangrove rehabilitation is a regional priority program to address climate change and meet the minimum target of 30 percent forest area. At the site, damage that had reached about 18 hectares since 2020 has been restored, leaving 2 hectares still unplanted.
