Menkum warns ASN after immigration and BGN graft cases
KPK says alleged extortion in the Directorate General of Immigration generated at least Rp145,5 miliar in 2022-2026.
Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas warned civil servants not to take public services lightly after a series of graft cases implicated government officials. In Jakarta on Friday (5/6), he cited an instruction from President Prabowo Subianto that he said had been delivered since the start of the term. Supratman did not discuss the substance of the cases and asked that legal proceedings continue under the presumption of innocence. The latest scrutiny centers on two major cases: the KPK detained Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services for 2024-2026 Silmy Karim and seven other suspects in an alleged extortion scheme involving residence permits for foreign nationals, with losses of at least Rp145,5 miliar. Separately, the Attorney General's Office named former Head of Badan Gizi Nasional Dadan Hindayana and two former deputies as suspects in an alleged corruption case tied to the management of the Makan Bergizi Gratis program.
