Mendagri-ATR/BPN sign joint decree to speed BPHTB
Integrated tax and land data will cut service queues and help close gaps exploited by land mafias.
Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian and Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid signed a Joint Circular Letter to speed up Bea Perolehan Hak atas Tanah dan Bangunan (BPHTB) services in land registration and integrate land and tax data. The signing took place at the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Jakarta on Monday, with the aim of providing certainty on procedures and service times. Tito said the main obstacles so far have been suboptimal data integration and uneven staffing capacity, which have also slowed BPHTB issuance and certificate processing. Nusron said faster services and connected data would also narrow the room for land mafias, especially when Nomor Induk Bidang, Nomor Objek Pajak and Bapenda data do not match.
