Megawati visits Bung Karno's grave in Blitar in June
The June 14 visit drew hundreds of cadres from Blitar and Malang, along with several PDIP leaders.
Megawati Soekarnoputri visited the grave of Indonesia's first president, Soekarno, in Blitar, East Java, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, during Bulan Bung Karno. The PDI Perjuangan chairwoman arrived from Bali via Dhoho Kediri Airport before heading to Blitar, where hundreds of cadres from Blitar and Malang greeted her. Megawati was accompanied by her son M. Prananda Prabowo, Puti Guntur Soekarno and Romy Soekarno. Several party leaders were also present, including Hasto Kristiyanto, Said Abdullah, Deddy Yevri Sitorus, Darmadi Durianto and Ronny Talapessy. After praying, Megawati greeted the crowd waiting at the cemetery complex. The party said Megawati routinely visits Bung Karno's grave as a form of respect and reflection.
