MBG reaches 57 million recipients, Batam at 94 percent
27,486 MBG kitchens are operating across 38 provinces, while third-quarter 2026 spending reached Rp153.2 trillion.
The Free Nutritious Meals program (MBG) has reached more than 57 million beneficiaries in 38 provinces during the two years of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The reach is supported by 27,486 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), with budget realization through the third quarter of 2026 at Rp153.2 trillion, or 66.9 percent of the effective allocation. In Batam, service coverage has reached 334,763 people, or about 94 percent of the potential 355,252 recipients. Batam SPPG regional coordinator Defri Frenaldi said 138 SPPG have operated, although eight were suspended, including one in Nongsa after a public health incident. As of October 6, 133 kitchens in Batam had obtained a Sanitation Hygiene Feasibility Certificate, while the rest were still being processed because of water quality problems.
