Mbappe nets 2 as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1
Madrid cut the gap to three points after handing Barcelona their first league defeat of the season.
Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 in the El Clasico of La Liga's Week 10 at Camp Nou, with two goals from Kylian Mbappe. The France forward opened the scoring in the 41st minute, then netted the winner in the 88th minute after Barcelona had levelled through Raphinha in the 62nd minute. The result ended Barcelona's unbeaten run in the league this season.
The three-point gain takes Madrid to 24 points and puts them under pressure at the top of the table. Barcelona remain top with 27 points, while Atletico Madrid are second on 25 points. BBC also noted that the victory extended Jose Mourinho's unbeaten run to six straight El Clasico matches as Madrid coach. For Barcelona under Hansi Flick, the defeat is a warning after a packed schedule in recent weeks.
