Manchester City beat Bournemouth 2-1 on Gvardiol's 90+1 winner

What's new: Rayan Cherki created both late goals as City turned around Marcus Tavernier's opener after 84 minutes.

Manchester City opened their Premier League season with a 2-1 home win over Bournemouth after Joško Gvardiol scored in stoppage time. Bournemouth led from the 26th minute through Marcus Tavernier and were still ahead late on before City struck twice. Guéhi headed in the equalizer from a Cherki corner in the 85th minute, and Gvardiol finished Cherki's through ball in the first minute of added time after a VAR check overturned an offside flag. City had struggled for long stretches, with Erling Haaland missing several chances, while Gianluigi Donnarumma kept them in the game with key saves.
