Man’s body found in sack in Depok suspected in mutilation case

Police have not found the victim’s legs and are awaiting an autopsy at RS Polri Kramat Jati to confirm the identity.

Polres Metro Depok is investigating the discovery of a man’s body inside a rice sack wrapped in black plastic in Tanah Merah, Jalan Kavling Depkes RT 03/RW 17, Pancoran Mas, Depok, on Tuesday afternoon. The victim was found unclothed, with both hands tied with a white cloth and an open wound on his neck. Police suspect the body was mutilated because only the head, torso and both hands were found, while both legs were missing from the upper thighs down. The body was taken to RS Polri Kramat Jati for a forensic autopsy. Polres Metro Depok criminal investigation chief AKBP Made Gede Oka Utama said the victim’s identity has not been determined. Residents initially thought the sack contained trash; when they tried to burn it on Tuesday morning, parts of a human body were seen and the case was reported to police.
