Man in Malang arrested after ordering 30 THC candies

Police call it the first disclosed case in Indonesia of gummy candy containing THC entering the country and being uncovered.

Bareskrim Polri arrested Abram Jetro Endiera in Malang, Jawa Timur, after he picked up a package containing 30 gummy candies with delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, sent from England. The case surfaced from information from Bea Cukai Pasar Baru about a suspicious shipment listed for a recipient named Sally Hartanto. Laboratory tests showed the three AI-branded packages contained class I narcotics. Police then carried out a controlled delivery through the Malang Post Office branch and arrested Abram on 24 August. In questioning, he admitted to ordering similar items four times through a website, including chocolate and liquid suspected of containing THC, for personal use. Police seized evidence with a gross weight of 231 grams and estimated its value at hundreds of millions of rupiah.
