Man, 26, pulled from 6th-floor ledge at Tampines HDB block

A 26-year-old man was rescued Sunday morning after he was found on a sixth-floor ledge outside a unit at Block 499C Tampines Avenue 9 in Singapore. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call for assistance at about 7:10 a.m. and found the man on the ledge when officers arrived. SCDF deployed a safety life air pack, with rescuers from its Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team on standby as a precaution. Video from the scene showed emergency vehicles below the block as officers worked to bring him back inside. Mothership reported the man was later apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008. No injuries were reported.
