Mama Yasinta files complaint against LBH Merauke chief over film

Yasinta Moiwend, known as Mama Yasinta, reported JTW, head of LBH Papua Merauke, to Polda Metro Jaya over the documentary Pesta Babi: Kolonialisme di Zaman Kita. The report was recorded under number LP/B/3843/V/2026/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya on 29 Mei 2026 and is linked to Article 65 in conjunction with Article 67 of the Personal Data Protection Law. Mama Yasinta said she was disappointed that her face was shown in the film and promotional poster without her consent. She said she only learned she appeared in the film when she watched a screening in Jayapura on 8 April. The collaborative filmmaking team, which includes Greenpeace Indonesia, Jubi Media, LBH Papua Merauke, Pusaka Bentala Rakyat and Watchdoc, said it respected the legal move while seeking to open communication with Yasinta and her family.
