M6.7 quake in Sulteng injures 32, affects 64 homes
BNPB put the number affected at 109 people, with two bridges cracked and the Palu-Sigi-Poso provincial road collapsed.
The magnitude 6.7 earthquake that struck Sulawesi Tengah on Tuesday afternoon injured 32 residents and affected at least 109 people, or 45 households. BNPB data showed 24 people suffered minor injuries and eight others were seriously hurt, with Sigi Regency the hardest hit area. Temporary damage included 64 homes, four places of worship, four public facilities, two bridges, two office buildings, one business site and one provincial road that collapsed along the Palu-Sigi-Poso route. In Palu city, Jembatan III was reported cracked and one hotel was also damaged. BMKG said the epicenter was on land at a depth of 10 kilometers, about 42 kilometers southeast of Palu, and 55 aftershocks had been recorded by 14.00 WIB.
