Lithuania probes Starlink arson attempt as Russia-linked sabotage
What's new: Officials tied the Vilnius attack to similar fires in Bulgaria and Poland that they say targeted Ukraine's military links.
Lithuania is investigating an attempted arson attack on a SpaceX Starlink base station near Vilnius as a Russia-linked act of sabotage, after a fire broke out around 2 a.m. Sunday. Vilmantas Vitkauskas, head of the National Crisis Management Centre, said the blaze was quickly put out, causing minor property damage and no service disruption. He said authorities believe the incident is connected to earlier attacks on Starlink sites in Bulgaria and Poland. Ukraine relies heavily on Starlink terminals for battlefield communications and drone operations. Poland previously blamed Russia for a September fire at a Starlink facility and detained four suspects. Moscow has rejected such accusations as baseless.
