Leon Goretzka agrees to join Aston Villa on free transfer

Leon Goretzka has reportedly reached a personal agreement to join Aston Villa in the summer of 2026. The 31-year-old Germany midfielder will arrive on a free transfer after his contract with Bayern Muenchen expires on June 30, 2026. According to Fabrizio Romano, the decision came after talks with Villa coach Unai Emery. The Birmingham club is now preparing medical tests next week before the contract is signed. In recent seasons, Goretzka's role at Bayern has declined, prompting him to look for a new club. Several teams, including Atletico Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Arsenal, had been linked with him. German media also reported that his salary demand reached 7 million euro net per season plus a 10 million euro signing bonus.
