Leeds beat Tottenham 1-0 as Okafor scores late at Elland Road
What's new: The win ended Leeds' six-match drought and lifted them above Spurs into eighth in the Premier League table.
Leeds United beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 on Saturday, with substitute Noah Okafor scoring in the 79th minute at Elland Road. Okafor struck 97 seconds after coming on, finishing after combining with fellow substitute Harry Wilson, as Leeds claimed a deserved home win. The result snapped Leeds' six-game winless run and ended Tottenham's three-match winning streak. The match also turned on a contentious first-half challenge by Leeds defender Jayden Bogle on Mathys Tel's Achilles. Referee John Brooks did not send Bogle off, and after a four-minute VAR check, Tony Harrington did not recommend an on-field review. Tel was forced off injured as Leeds moved above Tottenham into eighth place.
