Persija Jakarta beat Persebaya Surabaya 1-0 in the ninth round of the Super League at Jakarta International Stadium on Saturday night on a late goal by Ivan Mamut. The match was tight from the start, with Persija pressing more often and Persebaya occasionally threatening on the counterattack. The visitors were denied by Nadeo Argawinata, while a second-half effort by Kwon Chang-hoon hit the crossbar. The deadlock was broken late when Viktor Dethan sent the ball in from the right flank, Ivan's shot was parried by the Persebaya goalkeeper, and he pounced on the rebound to score the decisive goal. The victory took Shin Tae-yong's team back to the top of the standings with 21 points from nine matches, while Persebaya stayed seventh with 13 points.
