KPU prepares Rp1,42 trillion as 2029 election steps start in 2027

KPU has allocated Rp1,42 trillion in its 2027 indicative ceiling to begin the stages of the 2029 Pemilu. KPU chairman Mochammad Afifuddin said the agency received an indicative ceiling of Rp4,68 trillion for 2027, made up of Rp2,26 trillion for personnel spending, Rp988 billion for office operations, and Rp1,42 trillion in non-operational spending for election stages. The stage funds will cover about Rp339 billion for planning, Rp463,3 billion for registration and verification of political parties as prospective election participants, about Rp187 billion for forming ad hoc bodies, Rp239,3 billion for updating voter data, Rp164,7 billion for determining the number of seats and electoral districts, and Rp33,2 billion for nomination of the president, vice president, and legislative members. The breakdown was presented at a KPU meeting with Commission II of the DPR in Jakarta on Monday, June 15, 2026.
