KPK reviews Customs chief's name after Rp21 billion allegation

Prosecutors' trial findings will be included in a follow-up report as investigators decide whether to summon the official.

KPK has begun reviewing the appearance of the name of Director General of Customs and Excise Djaka Budhi Utama in a trial over an alleged import bribery scheme at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto said investigators and the enforcement deputy unit will examine all facts that emerge in court and will not ignore them. However, no decision has been made yet on whether Djaka will be summoned, because investigators are still waiting for a more detailed review. In the trial at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, defendant John Field from Blueray Cargo was said to have distributed bribe money to a number of Customs and Excise officials. Prosecutors said Djaka allegedly received about Rp21 miliar, paid in seven installments. The case also implicates Dedy Kurniawan Sukolo and Andri and names Rizal, Sisprian Subiaksono, and Orlando Hamonangan as bribe recipients.
