KPK seizes 1.3 kg of gold, Rp100 million from tax official's home
Investigators are now questioning 10 witnesses in Surabaya and Surakarta as they expand a bribery probe tied to KPP Banjarmasin tax refunds.
KPK seized 1.3 kilograms of gold bullion and Rp100 million in cash during a search of a tax inspector's home in Malang. The search was part of a broader investigation into alleged bribery in tax handling at KPP Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. On 11-12 August 2026, investigators also searched the Central Java II Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes in Surakarta and several locations in Klaten, Jombang and Surabaya, then confiscated documents and electronic evidence. After the series of searches, KPK scheduled questioning of 10 witnesses at Polrestabes Surabaya and Polresta Surakarta. The original case was opened through an OTT on 4 February 2026. The three suspects already processed are Mulyono, Dian Jaya Demega and Venasius Jenarus Genggor in a bribery case involving PT Buana Karya Bhakti's VAT refund.
