KPK seizes Sin$8,500, documents from 2 Jakarta immigration offices

The cash was found in the South Jakarta immigration chief's room as investigators examine links to a Rp145,5 miliar case.

KPK seized Sin$8,500 in cash, documents and electronic evidence from searches at the South Jakarta Immigration Office and the Central Jakarta Immigration Office on 4 August 2026. The foreign currency was found in the South Jakarta immigration chief's room. KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said all of the evidence will be analyzed to strengthen proof, map out the case and trace the people involved. The searches are linked to an investigation into alleged extortion and gratuities in the handling of foreign nationals' stay permits in 2022-2026. KPK has named eight suspects, including former Immigration Director General Silmy Karim and Saffar Muhammad Godam. The alleged gain obtained by the suspects reached Rp145,5 miliar.
