KPK searches 2 Jakarta immigration offices in Silmy Karim case

KPK searched two immigration offices in Jakarta on Tuesday: the Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Khusus Non-TPI Jakarta Selatan and the Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non-TPI Jakarta Pusat, in an investigation into alleged extortion tied to residence permits for foreign nationals and gratuities involving Silmy Karim. KPK acting director of investigations Achmad Taufik Husein said the searches ended at about 18.00 WIB, but the results and evidence were not yet disclosed. Earlier, KPK also searched immigration offices and a service bureau in Bali. Eight people have been named suspects in the case, which is believed to have run from 2022-2026, with alleged proceeds of Rp145,5 miliar.
