KPK Says It Is Too Early to Take Over Ex-Jampidsus Febrie Case

KPK has received an oral supervision request, but any next step awaits a written filing and review by its leadership.

KPK said it is not yet time to take over handling the corruption and money laundering case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto said the case is still at an early stage at the Kejaksaan Agung, including examination of evidence and documents, so the current process should be allowed to continue first. Setyo added that KPK had already received an oral supervision request after Kortastipidkor Polri handed over the continuation of the investigation to Kejaksaan Agung. A written request, he said, will still be discussed by KPK leaders in line with SOP before the next step is decided. Earlier, Yusril Ihza Mahendra reminded that KPK could step in, amid public doubts because the case is now being handled by the institution once led by Febrie.
