KPK names 5 suspects in BNPB disaster-fund corruption case

The case is split into conflict-of-interest and bribery clusters, with initial evidence including about Rp1,4 miliar in cash and precious metals.

KPK has named five suspects in a suspected corruption case involving BNPB procurement of goods and services that allegedly used ready-to-use funds for disaster response. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto said the case is divided into two clusters: an alleged conflict of interest under Article 12 letter i of the Corruption Law and bribery. The five suspects are Bima Setiawan, Gabriel Purwaka Sigit, Richard Erlangga, and two private parties, Syifa Nrika Ghifarin and Gery Prasetiawan. In the Oct. 13, 2026, OTT, KPK detained 14 people, including BNPB Secretary General Rustian, but Rustian has not been named a suspect. Investigators also seized about Rp1,4 miliar in cash and precious metals, while possible application of Article 2 and Article 3 remains open if the case develops.
