KPK arrests Unsoed rector and 2 vice rectors in sting

KPK arrested the leadership of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman in a sting operation in Purwokerto. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto confirmed that Unsoed Rector Akhmad Sodiq was among those detained, along with Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Noor Farid and Vice Rector for Student Affairs Norman Arie Prayogo. Setyo said he had not yet received details on other people taken to Jakarta, so he could not confirm whether Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance Kuat Puji Prayitno and Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relations Waluyo Handoko were also caught up in the operation. According to Kemdiktisaintek, the arrests are linked to an investigation into alleged bribery in new student admissions. KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested.
