Flores quake death toll in NTT reaches 111, 175.909 displaced
BNPB has recorded 8.794 aftershocks since 15 August, with 152 felt by residents and activity expected to continue for a month.
BNPB reported that the death toll from the magnitude 7,7 earthquake on Flores Island, Nusa Tenggara Timur, remained at 111 people as of Friday afternoon, while 175.909 residents were still living in shelters. The highest number of fatalities was recorded in Manggarai Regency at 45, followed by Manggarai Timur with 38 and Nagekeo with 13. According to BNPB, 56,4 percent of the dead were women and 45 percent were from the elderly group. BMKG also recorded 8.794 aftershocks since the main quake on 15 August 2026, with magnitudes ranging from 1,0 to 6,2; 152 of them were felt by residents. Amid the emergency response, Baznas distributed 1.900 ready-to-eat meal portions to evacuation points in Sambi Rampas, Manggarai Timur, and opened health services in Manggarai.
