Komisi XI picks Sarjito to lead Mineral Exchange oversight 2026-2031
Sarjito’s name will go to the DPR plenary on 27 August for formal approval before he can take office.
Komisi XI DPR agreed to appoint Sarjito as Chief Executive of the Oversight of the Mineral and Strategic Commodities Exchange (BMKS) for the 2026-2031 term after a fit-and-proper test in Jakarta on Monday. The decision still awaits approval from the DPR plenary session on Thursday, 27 August 2026. In his presentation, Sarjito outlined eight strategic policies to build a BMKS that is liquid and trusted by market participants. He said he aims for Indonesia to move beyond being only a price taker and gradually become an influence maker and then a price maker in the global mineral and strategic commodities market. Sarjito previously served as Deputy Commissioner for Education and Consumer Protection at OJK and chaired the PASTI Task Force before retiring in 2024.
