Kementan Tightens Oversight of 16,450-Hectare Rice Project in Kalimantan
The government will use S-curve monitoring and issue warnings if project deviations exceed 5%, to keep rice planting on schedule.
The Ministry of Agriculture is tightening oversight of a 16,450-hectare rice field development program in Kalimantan to speed up rice planting. At a coordination meeting in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, on Saturday, Director General of Agricultural Land and Irrigation Hermanto said supervision will begin at the construction stage through S-curve monitoring, checks on heavy equipment readiness, and regular evaluations. The government will issue warnings if the gap between targets and work progress exceeds 5 percent. Kementan also stressed that service providers must meet commitments on the number of machines and work capacity set out in the e-Catalog document. Data presented at the meeting showed the pre-construction meeting stage was 100 percent complete, the initial mutual check reached 16,095.34 hectares or 97.84 percent, and South Kalimantan was the only province to complete the provider package scheme.
