Kemensos assists family of Jatiluhur Reservoir guard found dead

The two children will keep receiving PIP and are promised college scholarships from Perum Jasa Tirta 2.

The Ministry of Social Affairs is assisting the family of Sumarna, a security guard found dead at the Jatiluhur Reservoir area in Purwakarta, West Java, on Friday (24/7). Officers from Sentra Terpadu Pangudi Luhur Bekasi visited the family home, met the victim's wife, Siti Maryam, and their two children for an initial assessment, and provided help with funeral costs. The ministry said the family's needs have not yet been fully assessed because of the mourning period. Early data show Maryam is listed in decile 4 of the National Socioeconomic Single Data. The victim's two school-age children will continue receiving Program Indonesia Pintar and will get scholarships through college from Perum Jasa Tirta 2. Police are still investigating the cause of Sumarna's death, including a possible murder, after he was found in his service uniform with both hands handcuffed behind his back.
