Kemenperin partners with Danareksa to develop 7 BUMN industrial zones
The seven zones are about 70% occupied, host 1,200 tenants and have drawn US$10 billion in investment.
The Ministry of Industry is strengthening cooperation with PT Danareksa (Persero) to manage and develop strategic industrial zones to accelerate downstream processing, attract investment and support more evenly distributed economic growth. Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said industrial zones play an important role in creating an efficient and competitive manufacturing ecosystem. Danareksa currently manages seven BUMN industrial zones: Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang, Kawasan Industri Wijayakusuma, Kawasan Industri Medan, Kawasan Berikat Nusantara, Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung, Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut and Kawasan Industri Makassar. Together they cover about 7,800 hectares, are 70 percent occupied, host about 1,200 tenants, have drawn US$10 billion or Rp177,4 triliun in investment and employ more than 300,000 workers. The two sides are also preparing to consolidate BUMN industrial zones, transform them into green industrial estates and expand into new areas.
