Kemenkes probes death of internsip doctor in Depok
The investigation is due in three to four days and involves police, KKI, KIKI and IDI amid concerns over doctor safety.
The Ministry of Health is investigating the death of a participant in the Program Internsip Dokter Indonesia, dr. Siti Zahra Maghfira, who was assigned to RS Sentra Medika Cisalak in Depok, West Java. Zahra graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Hasanuddin and began her internsip in May 2026. Aji Muhawarman, head of communications and public information at Kemenkes, said a comprehensive investigation is under way and is targeted for completion in three to four days. Kemenkes is coordinating with the police, KKI, KIKI, IDI, local government and the internsip host facility. Amid scrutiny over the safety of young doctors, Kemenkes said it issued new guidelines on 8 June 2026 covering work-hour limits, days off, leave, supervision and participant protection.
