Kemenhut Urges PBPH Holders in Jambi to Be on Full Alert

All PBPH holders in Jambi signed a Zero Karhutla pledge, while patrols, personnel and communications systems were tightened.

The Ministry of Forestry has urged holders of Perizinan Berusaha Pemanfaatan Hutan (PBPH) in Jambi to strengthen readiness for forest and land fires during the dry season. The issue was discussed at a coordination meeting that also involved Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan (KPH), BPBD Provinsi Jambi and Stasiun Meteorologi Kelas I Sultan Thaha Jambi. Andi Rohaendi, head of BPHL Wilayah IV, encouraged companies to put personnel, equipment, patrols and field coordination on standby. The local BMKG said weather and climate information should be used as the basis for patrols and early detection. BPBD Jambi said peatland conditions, limited water, weather and burning practices can only be addressed through collaboration between government, businesses and communities. At the end of the meeting, all PBPH holders in Jambi signed a Zero Karhutla commitment.
