Kemenhub tightens ramp checks across all modes before Nataru 2026/2027
The 1-30 November 2026 seaworthiness inspections will cover 2,140 ships across 132 UPT, including passenger and ro-ro vessels.
Kementerian Perhubungan is tightening inspections of transport fleet roadworthiness across all modes ahead of the Christmas 2026 and New Year 2027 travel period. Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has ordered ramp checks for road transport, ferry services, sea vessels, aircraft and trains to ensure the fleets carrying passengers are truly fit to operate. On land, the inspections will focus on public transport vehicles, especially buses. Kemenhub is also optimizing the MitraDarat application to record inspection results and follow up on vehicles that do not yet meet requirements. In the maritime sector, seaworthiness tests will target 2,140 ships from 1-30 November 2026, including 511 passenger ships, 460 ro-ro ferries and 821 tourist boats.
