Kemenhan prepares 2 Komcad battalions in each regency, city

The Ministry of Defense is preparing to form two reserve component battalions in each regency and city across Indonesia, but implementation will follow the development of TNI’s main component. Gabriel Lema, head of Kemenhan’s National Reserve Agency, said Komcad is positioned as a force multiplier for the Territorial Development Battalion, which is also planned for each region. He said the concept is aligned with the Universal People’s Defense and Security System, which includes the main component, reserve component and supporting component. The plan for two battalions per regency was previously outlined by Deputy Defense Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto and covers 514 regencies and cities. Kemenhan has not set a deadline for the formation and said implementation depends on needs, priority scale, capacity and progress in building the main units.
