Kemendikdasmen opens 2026 MPLS, bans hazing and seniority
Schools will use the 2026 Friendly MPLS Reference Book, which includes sample activities and anti-drug and anti-gambling material.
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has officially opened the 2026 Friendly School Environment Introduction Period, known as MPLS, marking the start of the 2026/2027 academic year. Minister Abdul Mu'ti called on schools to conduct MPLS without hazing or seniority and to make it a safe, comfortable and inclusive space for new students. Director General of Secondary and Special Education Tatang Muttaqin added that student adjustment should be guided by friendly teachers and senior classmates. For implementation, Kemendikdasmen has issued the 2026 Friendly MPLS Reference Book, which includes sample activities such as flag ceremonies, Pagi Ceria, an introduction to the Eight Dimensions of the Graduate Profile, and material on preventing drug abuse and the dangers of gambling.
