Kemendagri speeds integration of biometric data for social aid
New: a pilot in Banyuwangi found some social aid recipients no longer match current conditions and need updating.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is speeding the integration of digital government systems with biometric population data to make social aid distribution more accurate. Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian said the move is aimed at identifying residents who are truly eligible for social aid and reducing misdirected assistance. A data-matching pilot by Ditjen Dukcapil in Banyuwangi Regency found that some recipient records no longer matched current conditions and had to be updated. Biak Numfor is now among the priority areas for expanding the system. Tito asked OPD, village officials, and Posyandu workers to help update field data so aid from the central government, provincial governments, and regency governments reaches qualified recipients.
