Kemendagri opens overseas scholarship access for ASN
The program targets Kemendagri and regional civil servants under the 2023 ASN law, with options from training to fellowship.
The Ministry of Home Affairs held a workshop on overseas training and scholarships for civil servants at Kemendagri and regional administrations, seeking to widen channels for ASN competency development. The event, organized by the Center for Cooperation Facilitation, took place at Sasana Bhakti Praja, the Kemendagri office in Jakarta, on 29 July. Deputy chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives Bahtra Banong said capacity building for officials must move in step with bureaucratic reform, including through simpler regulations, use of information technology and transparent, efficient governance. He cited Law No. 20 of 2023 on ASN, which opens competency development schemes ranging from training, seminars and study assignments to short course, internships, fellowship and staff exchanges.
