Kemendagri holds Batch II awards for local governments, 4 sectors in focus
Batch II will be judged across six regions and adds the 3 million homes program amid a 30 million housing backlog.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is holding the 2026 Batch II Awards for High-Performing Local Governments with four new categories: access to and quality of health services, residents' access to education services, implementation of the 3 million homes program, and waste management and green surroundings. For the second round, judging is divided into six regions: Sumatera, Jawa-Bali, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku-Nusa Tenggara and Papua. The Sumatera regional round will take place in Batam on 12 August 2026, while the Jawa-Bali regional round will be held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Badung, on 28 August. Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian said housing was also emphasized because the housing backlog remains around 30 million, so local governments are assessed on their role in licensing and support for developers.
