Kemenag urges public to check qibla direction on Rashdul Qiblat

The Ministry of Religious Affairs is urging the public to use the Rashdul Qiblat phenomenon on July 15 and 16, 2026, to recheck the accuracy of qibla direction. On those two days, the sun will be directly above the Kaaba, allowing the shadow of a vertical object to serve as a precise reference. The times are 16.27 WIB, 17.27 WITA, and 18.27 WIT. Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar said the moment is part of the Indonesia Berkiblat 2026 National Movement. The public, mosque and prayer-room managers, KUA, madrasah, Islamic boarding schools, universities, government offices, private offices, hotels, and residents at home are invited to take part in the simultaneous measurements. Location registration is available through the indonesiaberkiblat.kemenag.dev portal, which also provides technical guidance for self-measurement or checks with local Ministry of Religious Affairs officers.
