Kejagung to trace remaining Eddy Tansil assets after Rp51,6 miliar handover
Attorney Tri Adhyaksa said assets worth Rp1,36 triliun were sold in 1997, exceeding the Rp900 miliar replacement obligation.
Kejaksaan Agung is being urged to trace the remaining assets of Eddy Tansil after the Asset Recovery Agency handed over assets worth Rp51,6 miliar belonging to the convict in the state-fund embezzlement case. Attorney Tri Adhyaksa Viravibawa said the search should be reopened so the recovery of state losses can be completed.
Tri, who carries the mandate of the late Rachmat Wangsasenjaya, said a team of 33 prosecutors had previously seized and handed Eddy Tansil's assets to a state bank. He said the assets were sold to PT Banten Java Persada on 14 July 1997 for a total of Rp1,36 triliun. He also said other assets were auctioned again in 2009-2010. Because Eddy Tansil's obligation was said to be Rp900 miliar, Tri said the difference from the sale proceeds should have been deposited with the Kejagung and then entered the state treasury as replacement money.
