Fire at TPSA Ciniru in Kuningan spreads, 200 deployed

The burned area is estimated at five hectares, while crews continue to tackle fire hotspots on the north and south sides of TPSA.

The fire at TPSA Ciniru in Kuningan Regency, West Java, was still burning on Thursday (13/8), with about 200 joint personnel deployed to several fire points. The Kuningan Regency BPBD split teams into several units to handle flames on the north and south sides of the waste disposal site. The burned area is estimated at about five hectares, and no fatalities have been reported. The fire was first detected on Wednesday (12/8) around 04.00 WIB, after officers smelled smoke and saw flames and plumes rising from the trash pile. According to BPBD, strong winds and dry weather during the dry season caused the fire to spread quickly. Officers used a thermal drone, water tankers, and two excavators to map hotspots and speed up the firefighting effort.
